The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Ilbrus Kotrashiev, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraj Masjedi, on Tuesday, October 4th.
During the meeting, which was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, the two sides stressed the good relations between the two countries and their readiness to develop relations and mutual cooperation.
The Russian ambassador stated:
Today, no problem in the Middle East can be solved without the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we have always conveyed this issue to Western officials.
Kotrashev also expressed satisfaction with the progress of several rounds of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia in Baghdad, saying it was in the region's interest.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, also stressed the importance of holding the October 10 parliamentary elections in Iraq and stated:
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the stability, peace, progress and territorial integrity of the Republic of Iraq and will spare no effort in this direction. We have always respected and supported the choice of the Iraqi people.
