Tuesday, 5 October 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati met today (Tuesday) to discuss bilateral relations.

According to Al-Jadeed, the meeting focused on general issues and relations between Lebanon and Iran.

Earlier, in an interview, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed that the United States has no right to interfere in the process of sending fuel to Lebanon, saying that Tehran is ready to build a power plant in Lebanon.

Lebanon has been facing a deteriorating economic situation, including fuel shortages, for a year and a half as a result of US sanctions. Some Lebanese businessmen have bought fuel from Iran through Hezbollah to contain the crisis and prevent the collapse of the country's institutions.
