According to Al-Arabiya, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said Riyadh supported international efforts to ensure that Iran did not acquire nuclear weapons.
"We emphasize the responsibility of the international community for what it calls Iran's nuclear transgression," he said. Saudi Arabia is paying close attention to treaties calling for the elimination of nuclear weapons.
Ibn Farhan continued:
Saudi Arabia's position is based on the principle of the right of states to use nuclear energy peacefully.
According to the report, Bin Farhan's remarks about Iran's nuclear program come at a time when the Supreme Leader of our country has issued a fatwa banning the production, maintenance and use of nuclear weapons.
