Tuesday, 28 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 11,701 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Tuesday that 11,701 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 1,821 of which has been hospitalized.
“A sum of 11,701 COVID-19 infections and 239 deaths has been identified due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,559,691.”
239 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 119,888,” the ministry added.
“6,124 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,988,109 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 31,976,745 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “29 cities are rated red, 224 cities are orange, 165 cities are yellow, and 30 cities are blue.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent weeks as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 233,234,938 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing 4,772,559 and recoveries amounting to 210,006,563.
