Monday, 27 September 2021 (YJC)_ Russian President Dmitry Peskov announced today (Monday) a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"During a press conference in the Kremlin, Peskov said:
Preparations are underway for Erdogan's visit, and his meeting with Putin will be private. Putin and Erdogan discuss Syria, Afghanistan and Libya during a bilateral meeting in Sochi.
According to Sputnik news agency, he explained:
At each [meeting] the presidents [of Russia and Turkey] have something to say because there are many common issues in bilateral relations, such as working on joint projects in the fields of economics and trade.
The meeting comes as Peskov has previously said in response to remarks by the Turkish Foreign Ministry about the election on the Crimean Peninsula that Ankara's opposition to the election is unacceptable to Russia.
