Speaking to CNN, Barham Saleh, who is in New York to attend the UN General Assembly, said:
Our region needs dialogue. We are also neighbors and we should enter into dialogue instead of being strangers despite differences.

The President of Iraq stated:
We are more optimistic than ever about leaving crises and differences in the region.

Saleh continued:
The region is facing major problems, and as we focus on terrorism and extremism, we need to recognize the future challenges of the economic situation.

The President of Iraq emphasized:
The region is in dire need of cooperation and planning to build infrastructure, economic development and cooperation, tackle climate change and strive to meet people's demands for jobs, quality education and better health care, and you can not wait for others to do this. Solve the problem for us, we have to work on it ourselves.

He added:
Iraq was the scene of regional and international conflicts with the money and lives of Iraqis, and this situation must end.
