A spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) described the meeting between the leaders of the Palestinian Authority and the Zionist ministers and members of the Knesset as "condemnable and ugly".
According to Al-Mayadin, "Hazem Qasim" said:
The continuation of the compromise meetings of the Palestinian Authority is a reflection of its insistence on moving against the will of the Palestinian national will and is a national and moral crime.
A Hamas spokesman clarified:
The compromising behavior of the PA leaders also encourages some parties in the region to continue to normalize relations with the occupiers.
Israeli War Minister Bani Gantz and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met last month to discuss security and economic co-operation between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Egypt is reportedly seeking US-backed reconciliation talks between the Zionist regime and Ramallah.
