The official Saudi news agency (WAS) quoted the Saudi coalition as saying this afternoon (Thursday) that a ballistic missile had been fired into the Jazan region in southern Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi coalition claims that "Houthi militants" fired the missile at Jazan.
The official spokesman for the Saudi coalition, Turki al-Maliki, claimed that Saudi Arabia's air defense had intercepted the missile.
The claim comes as the Yemeni army and popular committees have not yet issued a statement on the attack.
In the past 48 hours, the Saudi coalition has announced the launch of more than ten suicide drones into southern Saudi Arabia.
The Yemeni army has always insisted that it will continue its attacks against military targets deep in Saudi Arabia as long as the aggression and siege of Yemen continue.
