The Iraqi Ministry of Communications announced today (Wednesday) that it has reached the necessary agreements to launch the first Iraqi satellite into space.
The official spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Communications, Ra'd al-Mashhadani, told the official news agency that Iraqi Minister of Communications Arkan Shahabi announced today at the Second Iraqi Cyber Security Conference that Iraq would soon launch its first satellite.
Al-Mashhadani added that the achievement was made with the support and order of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, who had previously emphasized keeping pace with technological advances in communications.
The Iraqi Ministry of Communications on Tuesday stressed the importance of having satellites for satellite channels, radio frequencies, as well as new and advanced services.
