The Russian Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday that Moscow, Beijing and Islamabad have reached an agreement with the Taliban to maintain contacts for the benefit of peace and prosperity in Afghanistan.
The agreement is said to have been reached during consultations in Kabul between the three countries' special envoys and the prime minister of the interim Taliban cabinet.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Taliban stressed the special focus on increasing relations with Russia, China and Pakistan and praised the constructive role of the three countries in strengthening peace and stability in Afghanistan.
