Dozens of protesters gathered on the first day of the 76th UN General Assembly in front of the UN headquarters in New York City, calling for an end to US military intervention around the world.
According to Sputnik, the rally began as US President Joe Biden entered the hall to speak, and protesters called for an end to the use of military force and a cessation of drone strikes.
The demonstration began in front of the UN headquarters under police surveillance. Protesters held placards reading "Drone strikes kill children" and "Let Afghans and Haitians enter the United States."
Last week, the Pentagon confirmed reports of drone strikes in Kabul that killed 10 civilians, seven of them children. The father of a three-year-old Afghan girl who was killed in a US drone strike has said that an apology is not enough and that Washington should punish her daughter's killers.
