FM Spox.: Iran and the P4+1 meeting is not on the agendaDuring a press conference on Tuesday, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Saeed Khatibzadeh announced that the Vienna talks will resume in the coming weeks and hinted no collective meeting is scheduled between Iran and the P4+1.

“The Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is now in New York to attend UN General Assembly, he will also hold separate meetings with the EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell and the foreign ministers of the remaining participants in the JCPOA,” Khatibzadeh said.

He went on to point out the fact that the JCPOA talks will resume soon in the next few weeks and said “This has been announced to the P4 + 1.”

“The new diplomatic team of the new administration in Iran is finalizing their consultations on the talks,” he said while adding that “there is no meeting between Iran and the P4+1 on the agenda of the Iranian delegation in New York.”

His comments came after French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that it is possible that world powers and Iran to meet on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly.
