Iran Covid-19 live Update: Over 17K New Cases, 344 Deaths

Monday, 20 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 17,397 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.

Iran Covid-19 live Update: Over 17K New Cases, 344 DeathsThe Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Monday that 17,397 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 2,593 of which has been hospitalized.

“A sum of 17,397 COVID-19 infections and 344 deaths has been identified due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,442,232.”  

“344 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 117,526,” the ministry added.

“6,707 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,792,117 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.

The ministry also added that 31,113,929 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “57 cities are rated red, 238 cities are orange, and 136 cities are yellow.”

Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
