Some Afghan media outlets reported the dissolution of the Independent Human Rights Commission by the Taliban.
According to the report, the Taliban has declared that the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission has been dissolved and no longer has legitimacy.
Earlier, the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) said in a statement that the commission had been unable to carry out its duties for the past month or so because the Taliban had seized its offices.
The commission called on the Taliban to provide independent and impartial oversight of the human rights situation, especially for women and children.
The report by the Independent Human Rights Commission states that Afghan citizens need an independent human rights body to be able to refer cases of human rights abuses.
