The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, arrived in Kabul this morning to discuss support for health institutions in Afghanistan.
Wahid Majrooh, Acting Minister of Health of Afghanistan, said: "This visit was made after the suspension of World Bank financial assistance to the health sector in Afghanistan and the purpose of this discussion is to continue this assistance."
Meanwhile, Ahmadullah Wasiq, deputy head of the cultural commission at the Ministry of Information and Culture, said the head of the World Health Organization was scheduled to meet with the interim Taliban prime minister, his deputy, Mullah Baradar, and the group's foreign minister.
