Monday, 20 September 2021 (YJC)_ According to expert studies, it is possible to export Iran's technical and engineering services to Iraq in the field of energy (construction of power plants) and development of oilfields up to $50 billion per year, said an Iranian lawmaker.

Iran techno engineering exports to Iraq could rise to $50bThe export of technical and engineering services to Iraq must be prioritized by the country's chambers of commerce, otherwise other countries will take advantage of these economic opportunities, Mojtaba Yusefi told IRNA.

“Currently, there is no committee that can accurately assess the economic opportunities for Iranian businessmen and traders to enter the Iraqi market.”

Iran can have an active part in rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure, said the lawmaker adding that one of these infrastructures is the connection of Shalamcheh railway in Iran to Basra port of Iraq.

The director general of Arabian and African Countries Office in Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) said on Wednesday that Iran will open a permanent trade and exhibition center in Sulaymaniyah city of Iraqi Kurdistan in the near future.

“The center will open in line with the plans of the TPO to facilitate the entry of Iranian companies and goods into the Iraqi market,” Farzad Piltan said.

“This center will be established by the TPO in collaboration with the Iran National Innovation Fund (INIF),” he added.

The center is aimed to provide various services to Iranian companies and businesses such as consulting, marketing, legal services, registering the brand and logo of companies in Iraq, advertising services, allocating exhibition and office space and holding business events, allocating warehouse, advising on banking services, and assisting in concluding commercial contracts, transportation logistics services, insurance, and accommodation, said Piltan.
