Monday, 20 September 2021 (YJC)_ The head of Russia's telecom organization announced widespread cyber attacks against the country's voting system in recent days.
Mikhail Osiovsky, head of Russia's telecom company Telecom, told a news conference at the Russian Electoral Commission.
In the past few days, there have been 19 cyber attacks against the country's electronic voting system, all of which have been thwarted and repelled.
According to the Tass news agency, he said:
We had a total of 19 cyber attacks, some of which were very short and lasted only a few minutes. Most of the attacks lasted 5 hours and 32 minutes on Saturday. The attacks started in the morning and continued until the middle of the day.
According to Osiowski, various centers, including the Central Election Commission portal and government and election service portals, were targeted. In general, large-scale efforts were made, but we were prepared for these attacks.
