About 10 civilians, including seven children, were killed in a drone strike on a car in Kabul, Gen. Frank McKenzie, commander of the US Central Asia Terrorist Headquarters known as Centcom, told a news conference Friday.
"What happened near Kabul airport was wrong and I apologize for that," McKenzie said.
The commander of Centcom acknowledged that 10 civilians were killed in airstrikes on August 29 near Kabul International Airport, and said the Pentagon was considering providing financial compensation to the victims' families.
