Saturday, 18 September 2021 (YJC)_ Welcoming Iran's full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a senior Russian diplomat said Saturday morning that Iran has a major role to play in normalizing the situation in the region.
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's representative to international organizations based in Vienna, welcomed Iran's full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Saturday morning.
In response to the news of Iran's membership in the organization, Ulyanov wrote:
The good news is that it's one of the happiest. In international relations, new rights and opportunities are associated with certain responsibilities. In the current situation, Iran has a major role to play in normalizing the situation in the region, including through the full revival of the UN Security Council.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, announced on Friday, September 17, that the document of Iran's permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was approved by the leaders.
