Friday, 17 September 2021 (YJC)_ US Treasury Department announced sanctions on several individuals related to Hezbollah.
According to the website of the US Treasury Department, the sanctions will also target people linked to Iran's elite Quds Force.
At least 13 people were targeted by the US sanctions on Friday, as the Treasury said they had ties to the Lebanese Shia organisation Hezbollah and Quds Force respectively.
The sanctions require all property of the individuals placed on the list to be blocked and reported to the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. They also restrict individuals from sending or receiving funds, goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any sanctioned person.
Hezbollah has been designated as a terrorist group by more than 20 countries, including the US, Israel, Canada and the United Kingdom.
