According to the Tass news agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement:
The Air Force's Air Defense and Missile Defense Unit has successfully tested a new missile for its missile defense system at the Sari Shagan site in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Sergei Garbachuk, commander of the Russian Air Force missile defense unit, said:
This set of tests has met all the expected parameters of this anti-missile missile.
He added:
After several reliable tests, our new anti-missile missile accurately met all the necessary expectations and parameters, and the crew of this unit successfully intercepted and destroyed the intended target according to their duties.
