Tuesday, 14 September 2021 (YJC)_ Syrian President Bashar al-Assad paid an unannounced visit to the Russian capital, Moscow, to meet with Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

According to Sputnik news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Moscow. According to the media, Bashar al-Assad traveled to Moscow on an unannounced visit.

In a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad, Vladimir Putin congratulated him on winning the Syrian presidential election.

According to the Russian media, the Russian president said at the beginning of his meeting with Bashar al-Assad:
I am very happy to welcome you once again in Moscow. Most importantly, I would like to congratulate you on your recent birthday.

Vladimir Putin also congratulated Bashar al-Assad on his victory in the Syrian elections, adding:
This was a very good result in the presidential election. The results (of this election) show that the people trust you, despite all the problems of the past years and the tragedies of the past years, they (the Syrian people) still associate the process of recovery and return to a normal life with you.

Some media sources reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday (yesterday).
