Tuesday, 14 September 2021 (YJC)_ The UAE has added 38 individuals and 15 companies to its list of sponsors of terrorism, including a number of Iranians.

The UAE imposed sanctions on 38 people, including several IraniansAt its meeting, the UAE Cabinet of Ministers included 38 individuals and 15 companies on the list of individuals and companies supporting terrorism.

The UAE's Wam news agency reported that the decision was made as part of the country's efforts to target and shut down terrorism-related networks and related activities.

Citizens from the UAE, Lebanon, Iraq, India, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, Nigeria and Iran are among those recently added to the sanctions list by the UAE.

The Iranian citizens on this list are: "Mahdi Azizullah Kiasti", "Farshad Jafar Hakemzadeh", "Seyed Reza Seyed Mohammad Ghasemi", "Mohsen Hassan Kargar Hojjat" and "Ebrahim Mahmoud Ahmad Mohammad".

Most of the companies on the UAE sanctions list operate in the trade, shipping and exchange sectors.

The Wam news agency did not mention why these individuals and companies were on the UAE sanctions list.

The news comes as the UAE's interference in the internal affairs of some Arab countries and Abu Dhabi's support for armed groups in those countries contradicts the UAE's anti-terrorist gesture.
