Informed sources said on Sunday night, Tehran time, that New Delhi was preparing for a meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Hindu newspaper, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was scheduled to travel to New Delhi on Monday, but his trip was postponed due to planning issues and the upcoming SCO summit. Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud is scheduled to be in New Delhi over the weekend.
According to the newspaper, while both sides are expected to focus on bilateral issues, developments in Afghanistan will be one of the important issues of consultation between Tehran and Riyadh.
