AEOI and IAEA Issued a Statement on Continued Mutual Cooperation

Sunday, 12 September 2021 (YJC)_ Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency issued a statement to put emphasis on the need for continued and extended cooperation.

AEOI and IAEA Issued a Statement on Continued Mutual CooperationAt the end of a meeting between Vice-President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami and IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi, AEOI and IAEA released a joint statement to put emphasis on the need for continued and extended cooperation.

The statement issued during Grossi’s visit to Tehran on Sunday and it reads as “The spirit of cooperation and mutual trust is the thing the parties recalled and reaffirmed during the session. They both stressed the need for its continuation emphasized the necessity for addressing the relevant issues in a constructive atmosphere.”

“The two sides decided to maintain their mutual interactions and meetings at relevant levels within the framework of the existing cooperation,” the statement said while adding that “In order to achieve this the Vice-President and the Head of AEOI will meet the IAEA Diector-General on the sidelines of the upcoming General Conference, also, in order to enhance cooperation between Iran and the IAEA in different fields and to discuss current issues of mutual interest  Rafael Grossi will visit Tehran in the near future.”

Finally, it has been announced that “IAEA’s inspectors are permitted to service the identified equipment and replace their storage media,” while it is noted that it will be kept under the joint IAEA and AEOI seals in Iran and the way and the timing are agreed by the two sides.

Grossi arrived in Tehran to meet with Eslami in the Iranian capital on Sunday.
