Nguyen Phu Trong, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, on Saturday met with visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, stressing partnership between the two socialist countries.
The two sides should promote exchanges and cooperation between the parties and the governments in a more flexible and diverse way, Nguyen Phu Trong said.
During their meeting, Wang also called for strengthening China-Vietnam cooperation in various fields.
Facing the current complex and volatile international situation, China and Vietnam should improve political mutual trust, strengthen unity and cooperation, and consolidate political and institutional security, said Wang.
