Saturday, 11 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 16,654 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Saturday that 16,654 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 2,704 of which has been hospitalized.
“16,654 COVID-19 infections and 444 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,275,567.”
“444 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 113,824,” the ministry added.
“7,347 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,538,419 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 30,123,729 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “168 cities are rated red, 209 cities are orange, and 71 cities are yellow.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 224,802,025 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing 4,633,675 and recoveries amounting to 201,386,482.
