Friday, 10 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 21,114 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Friday that 21,114 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 3,187 of which has been hospitalized.
“21,114 COVID-19 infections and 538 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,258,913.”
“445 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 113,380,” the ministry added.
“7,418 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,509,905 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 30,017,378 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “246 cities are rated red, 144 cities are orange, and 58 cities are yellow.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 224,191,678 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing 4,623,850 and recoveries amounting to 200,797,855.
