Wednesday, 8 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 26,854 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday that 26,854 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 3,713 of which has been hospitalized.
“26,854 COVID-19 infections and 538 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,210,978.”
“538 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 112,430,” the ministry added.
“7,534 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,453,651 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 29,791,562 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “246 cities are rated red, 144 cities are orange, and 58 cities are yellow.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 222,918,100 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing 4,603,168 and recoveries amounting to 199,475,102.
