Rika Aprianti, a spokeswoman for the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights Prisons, said the evacuation process was ongoing and that the cause of the incident was under investigation.

He added that in the area affected by the fire, drug inmates are being held and have a capacity of 122 people. The Indonesian official did not say how many prisoners were in the area when the fire broke out, but said it was crowded.
