Abdul Khaliq Abdullah, a former adviser to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, stressed that Washington was not willing to go to war on behalf of Arab countries.

Al-Khalij Al-Jadeed news website quoted Abdullah as saying:
The US Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense in the region are carrying a message from Washington that the US will not defend the Gulf Arab states.
According to the Emirati diplomat, the message of the US Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State is also that from today onwards, the US will not enter into any war over the oil of the Persian Gulf.
He stressed that the Arab countries on the Persian Gulf are at a crossroads and "how should they adapt to the post-American Gulf stage?"
