Tuesday, 7 September 2021 (YJC)_ The press center of the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Minister of Foreign Affairs met with his Italian counterpart in Dushanbe.
During his visit to Tajikistan, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio met with his Italian counterpart Sirajuddin Mehruddin.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the main issues of the bilateral agenda and future political contacts.
The meeting also focused on the development of Tajikistan's cooperation with Italy in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian and security fields.
The heads of diplomatic missions of Tajikistan and Italy further examined the situation in Afghanistan and the region and stressed the unity of approaches in the fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, transnational crimes and other security threats.
In another part, Mehruddin and Di Maio expressed their readiness to continue contacts and consultations at all levels on important issues of cooperation between Tajikistan, Italy and the regions.
