The Office of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, said in a statement that an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council chaired by al-Kadhimi was held on Sunday.
The meeting reviewed recent security developments and effective mechanisms to prevent a recurrence of security incidents in Kirkuk province.
According to the Al-Sumaria News website, al-Kadhimi emphasized the weakness of the enemy's capabilities at the meeting, but also said that sometimes the mismanagement and negligence of military commanders leads to security incidents.
He called for the development of new mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of such security incidents, and said that activating the role of the intelligence services, creating an effective coordination mechanism between the various security and security institutions is essential.
Al-Kazemi also ordered the formation of a central committee to investigate security breaches and prevent the recurrence of security incidents.
