Monday, 6 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority stressed his opposition to the resumption of bilateral talks with the Zionist regime as in the past.
Opposing the return to bilateral talks with the Zionist regime, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammed Ashtia called for a new mechanism based on international law and Arab support for the talks.
In an interview with Palestinian state television, Ashtia said:
We do not want to go back to the previous bilateral talks with Israel, but we want talks based on law and international legitimacy under the supervision of the Quartet.
Reconciliation talks between the Zionist regime and the Palestinian Authority have stalled since April 2014 following Tel Aviv's opposition to halting settlements and the release of old prisoners and not adhering to a two-state solution.
