Sunday, 5 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 25,870 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Sunday that 25,870 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 3,430 of which has been hospitalized.
“25,870 COVID-19 infections and 610 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,129,407.”
“3,430 of the newly-detected patients have been hospitalized since yesterday,” the ministry added while saying “610 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 110,674.”
“7,689 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,362,814 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 29,452,322 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “246 cities are rated red, 144 cities are orange, and 58 cities are yellow.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 221,290,070 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,578,714 and recoveries amounting to 197,798,184.
