Saturday, 4 September 2021 (YJC)_ The Hamas leader said in a telephone call with a freed Palestinian female prisoner that efforts would continue to free all prisoners from Israeli prisons.
Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, contacted Anhar Dick, a captive of a freed Palestinian woman, and praised her will and patience.
According to Palestine Online, Haniyeh further stressed the ongoing efforts to free all Palestinian prisoners in the Zionist regime.
"The issue of prisoners is at the top of our agenda," he said.
Abdul Nasser Forouaneh, head of the research and documentation department of the Committee for the Affairs of Prisoners and Freedmen, said that about 4,800 Palestinian prisoners were being held in Israeli prisons.
About 4,800 Palestinian prisoners are being held in Israeli-occupied prisons, including 39 women, 170 children and dozens of elderly people, according to the figures.
