Saturday, 4 September 2021 (YJC)_ Denmark's member of NATO and the European Union will not recognize the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan, said Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod.
As speculation mounted about the Taliban's imminent move to form the Afghan government, Denmark rejected any recognition of the government.
According to media reports, the Danish Foreign Minister reacted in an interview with the DRE television channel about the possibility of the Taliban taking action to form a new government in Afghanistan.
Jeppe Kofod stated that Denmark "does not recognize any (formation) of the government (by) the Taliban."
According to Sputnik, Kofod's remarks have made Denmark the first Western country to take such a position.
