In a message, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed his condolences on the demise of Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Saeed Hakim.
The text of this message is as follows.
in the name of God
The death of the supreme authority, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Saeed Tabatabai Hakim, caused deep regret and impression.
The prolific and blessed life of that scholar and jurist was spent in defending the principles of religion, spreading the pure thought of the principles of Shiism, right-orientation and fighting against the oppression and dictatorship of the Ba'athist regime. That wise jurist, with his scientific efforts and practical endeavors, left a valuable legacy and capital for the Islamic world.
The message reads:
I offer my condolences to the world of Islam and Shiism, the Supreme Leader, the great authorities, Islamic scholars, seminaries, especially the seminary of Najaf Ashraf, the followers of that great jurist and the great family of the wise, as well as the government and people of Iraq. And I wish patience and reward for that deceased jurist, forgiveness and vast divine mercy, and for the survivors, especially his esteemed family.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian
