Friday, 3 September 2021 (YJC)_Iran's new Oil Minister said despite the unilateral and cruel sanctions imposed by US against Iran.
Addressing the first OPEC Plus meeting in Vienna since being named to the new post, Iran's new Oil Minister Javad Owji said despite the unilateral and cruel sanctions imposed by US against Iran.
“Three years ago, the US administration imposed the cruelest sanctions on Iran while saying the goal is to bring the country's oil exports down to zero after it unilaterally abandoned Nuclear deal,” he said while adding that “However, the US did not achieve its goal and Iran continued sending its oil to the market by using innovative ways to bypass the illegal sanctions.”
He went on to say that “Although oil sales dropped dramatically, this capacity exists in the Ministry of Petroleum and all departments to sell oil.”
Owji went on to promise that "good things will happen in terms of oil sales in the near future and added “To swap oil for goods or investment is just one of the ways.”
The minister also referred to the US embargo against Venezuela and said “US unilateral sanctions on the two founding members of OPEC is contrary to the principles and rules of international law".
“As soon as the US sanctions are removed, Iran will return to its pre-sanctions crude production level,” he said.
