The United Nations has announced that it has resumed its humanitarian flights to Afghanistan. The flights were operated from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, to Mazar-e-Sharif and Kandahar.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's spokesman Stephen Dujarric said there had been three flights to Mazar-e-Sharif airport so far.
He said the United Nations was also planning flights to Kabul airport, sending non-food aid including medicine and other necessities to Afghanistan.
