Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Defense Ministry industrial section has developed 3 units for the production of radar systems.
Deputy Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami
officially delivered the units to the Khatam ul-Anbiya Air Defense Base
Commander Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili on Sunday.
The production units are designed and developed by
Sa-Shiraz, an electronics company of the country’s military industries overseen
by the Defense Ministry.
Along with the production units, their products were also
unveiled.
Speaking on the sidelines of the delivery meeting, Hatami
stated that smart defense is one of the greatest pillars of a country’s defense
system.
"The Defense Ministry’s electronic industries has,
therefore, started new attempts to equip the armed forces with up-to-date and
smart equipment, whereby it has started producing electronic devices with
state-of-the-art technology. The highly strategic production units for radar
systems which are being unveiled today are indications of the progress they
have made.”
"These radar systems can discover areal objects from very
low to very high altitudes as well as stealth aircraft, fighters, and cruise
missiles.”
He added that the radars are also able to detect
anti-radiation missiles.
