Thursday, 2 September 2021 (YJC)_ Amir-Abdollahian, in a phone call with his Austrian counterpart, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the principle of negotiation but "Negotiation for negotiation is not acceptable."

In a telephone call today between Austrian Foreign Minister Schallenberg and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Austrian side congratulated our Foreign Minister on his inauguration and announced Austria's readiness to enhance cooperation and donate one million doses of vaccine over the next two weeks, and stressed the need to exchange views on the UN Security Council and the resumption of the Vienna talks.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country also emphasized regarding JCPOA:
The Islamic Republic of Iran has shown its fundamental role in maintaining the UN Security Council with strategic patience in the face of US withdrawal and inaction on the part of Europe, and now is the time for the other JCPOA parties to cooperate and implement their commitments in a real and practical manner.

Announcing that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the principle of negotiation, Amir Abdullahian added: negotiation for negotiation is not acceptable.
