Wednesday, 1 September 2021 (YJC)_The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 33,170 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday that 33,170 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“33,170 COVID-19 infections and 599 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,025,233.”
“4,357 of the newly-detected patients have been hospitalized since yesterday,” the ministry added while saying ““599 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 108,393.”
“7,860 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,237,315 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 29,006,289 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “306 cities are rated red, 110 cities are orange, and 32 cities are yellow.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 218,734,144 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,537,832 and recoveries amounting to 195,582,503.
