Sunday, 29 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that over 31,516 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Sunday that 31,516 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours, 3,614 of whom required hospitalization.
“31,516 COVID-19 infections and 614 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 4,926,964.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “581 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 106,482.”
“7,877 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 4,146,742 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The Iranian health ministry also announced 28,668,156 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that 306 cities are rated red, 110 cities are orange, and 32 cities are yellow.
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 216,943,564 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,511,731 and recoveries amounting to 193,867,787.
