Saturday, 28 August 2021 (YJC)_ New Iranian Foreign Minister referred to the assassination Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and said the US government should account for its crime.
During his visit of the site of the assassination of anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, new Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the US government should account for its crime.
“One of our main priorities at the foreign ministry is to seriously pursue the international efforts against the parties that, in the name of the US government and the White House, carried out terrorist acts against the great heroes,” he said.
He went on to highlight the fact that “Even though the previous US administration has committed such a crime, they should account for it. The US administration cannot escape accountability for this terrorist act,” while adding that “The perpetrators of this terrorist act should be punished and brought to justice.”
Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated in a US drone strike on Baghdad International Airport in Iraq on January 3, 2020.
