Following the Gaza Strip protests against the siege of Gaza, Egypt announced the reopening of the Rafah crossing, and reports indicate that Cairo has begun extensive contacts to improve the situation in Gaza.
Egyptian officials have informed Hamas that they will reopen the Rafah crossing after being closed for three days from today (Thursday).
Gaddafi Interior Ministry spokesman Iyad al-Bazm told Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed that the Rafah crossing will be partially reopened today and fully on Sunday next week.
In this regard, Al-Youm Al-Sabeeh reported that Egypt has begun extensive contacts to improve the humanitarian economic situation in the Gaza Strip.
According to the report, the Rafah crossing was reopened with the aim of receiving immediate humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Al-Akhbar newspaper reported yesterday that Palestinian groups are considering the possibility of intensifying pressure on the occupying Zionist regime on the border with Gaza in the coming days to force Cairo to back down.
