Monday, 23 August 2021 (YJC)_ US officials claim to have targeted an Iranian drone in eastern Syria yesterday.
According to the Jerusalem Post, US officials claim that a fighter belonging to this country managed to shoot down an Iranian drone in the Syrian skies yesterday. They say the aircraft was one of the most advanced types of drones in the world.
US Coalition spokesman Wayne Marotto said: "Coalition planes managed to intercept an Iranian drone yesterday and target it in the border area with Syria."
Fox News correspondent Lucas Tomlinson also claimed: "Yesterday, an Iranian drone was shot down after a very close patrol of a US military base where more than 900 US troops are stationed".
US officials say Iranian drones patrolling Iraq and Syria pose a clear threat to the security of the country's military.
