Sunday, 22 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 36,419 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Sunday that 36,419 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours, 5,007 of whom required hospitalization.
“36,419 COVID-19 infections and 684 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 4,677,114.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “684 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 102,038.”
“7,662 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 3,932,472have already gained recovery,” ministry added.
The health ministry public relations warned that 359 cities are rated red, 59 cities are orange, and 30 cities are yellow. It is also said that 27,855,470 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 212,358,643 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,441,496 and recoveries amounting to 189,975,107.
