Saturday, 21 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced that 24,179 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Saturday that 24,179 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours, 3,666 of whom required hospitalization.
“24,179 COVID-19 infections and 544 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 4,640,695.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “544 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 101,354.”
“7,626people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 3,902,808 have already gained recovery,” ministry added.
The Iranian Health Ministry also announced that so far total vaccination jabs are 27.75 million.
According to the latest figures, more than 211,778,526 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,432,207 and recoveries amounting to 189,519,921.
