Saturday, 21 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Somali army says 60 members of the al-Shabaab terrorist group have been killed in a military offensive in the south of the country.
The Somali military said in a statement that government forces had attacked al-Shabaab elements in al-Sabaid and Kanwali districts in the al-Shabili district of southern Somalia.
The Somali military said in a statement that 60 al-Shabab members were killed in the attack, and that the headquarters of the terrorist group, which was used to carry out terrorist attacks, was destroyed.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, the al-Shabaab terrorist group has not yet responded to the Somali army statement.
The al-Shabab terrorist group, which announced its existence in early 2004, is an al-Qaeda-linked militant group that has carried out numerous terrorist operations and has killed hundreds of people.
